A rare chance to see excerpts in a variety of genre from Beijing Opera featuring The Monkey King (martial and acrobatics), The Imperial Concubine Gets Drunk (mime and dance), The Fugitive (music and singing), as well as The Butterfly Lovers Quartet (a synthesis of Eastern and Western musical traditions based on Shaghai Opera) The opera excerpts are fully staged and costumed performances by artists from Beijing Opera, one of China's national treasures with a history of over 200 years.
