Details

Premiered 17th Nov 1839. Verdi's first opera. Oberto, a Count, obsessively seeks to avenge the betrayal of his daughter, Leonora, seduced by the manipulative Riccardo. Riccardo had abandoned Leonora to marry Cuniza. Cuniza and Leonora develop a cautious friendship and Oberto's obsession finally explodes.
