Treasure Island is a tale of comedy, romance and swashbuckling adventure. Audiences will be invited to join Jim Hawkins on his quest as he sets sail to find the lost treasure but, in true pantomime style, along the way his voyage is interrupted by a devilishly dastardly villain, Long John Silver and his motley pirate crew and other familiar pantomime ingredients including an outrageous dame Hepsibah Hawkins, a beautiful heroine, Princess Topaz and a whole host of enchanting characters including the magical Tahiki and her enchanting island friends. There'll be lots of It's Behind You and Oh no it isn’t and copious amounts of other traditional pantomime banter to help the audience join in the fun. All this and a sprinkle of fabulously familiar songs, the tale of Treasure Island is set to create a fun evening of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.Company Carshalton Pantomime Company. Following last year's sellout success Sherlock Holmes, this years cast and crew of 45 bright young things follow the adventures of young effeminate Jim Hawkins and the lovesick Captain Smollett as they take on the might of Long John Silver, Hairy Paul and Big Fat Nick in an all-swashing, all-buckling pirate adventure! It's 1742 and England's harbours thrive on talk of the New World. Pirates rule the seas and Liverpool dominate what was then known as football's 'First Division'. In the midst of all this nautical gubbins, young Jim Hawkins suddenly finds himself in pursuit of love, honour and a massive quantity of gold. With the evil Long John Silver as his nemesis, it's no wonder the old people of that year sometimes called the ensuing shenanigans 'the biggest adventure in the world - ever- so far this year'. The panto promises every comic ingredient going, plus a liveband on stage, audience participation galore and a healthy smattering of men dressed as women and women dressed as men.Company Footlights.
