T1549614465
Distillations explores the relationship between science and young people and issues of ethics and research - including cloning and the use of drugs for behavioural control. The presentations take their inspiration from the Thousand Families in Newcastle upon Tyne study, or Red Spot, as it is also known. Initiated by Sir James Spence in 1947, the project established a direct correlation between poverty and public health. Distillations will comprise of 4 devised pieces, 2 dramatic poems by Ellen Phethean and Paul Summers and several linking sketches by Gez Casey, performed by members of Live Youth Theatre and Live Youth Theatre East over two nights.
