EVERYWORD, the annual new writing festival which grown more popular every year, is back this May. Extended to two weeks, EVERYWORD offers a variety of readings, workshops and events designed to get your creative juices flowing. This year the programme includes workshops from award-winning writer David Eldridge and one of the finest new writing companies in the UK, Paines Plough. Readings include new work by Robert Farquhar, Laurence Wilson and Kellie Smith. EVERYWORD enables aspiring writers to work with and learn from some of the country’s leading practitioners and this year’s festival includes collaborations with curators Almanac Folk and, back by popular demand, Present Tense with Nabokov Theatre. But EVERYWORD is not just for writers. EVERYWORD has seen the first readings of Paradise Bound, Unprotected, Intemperance, Lost Monsters and The Dreadful Hours, all of which have progressed to full-scale Everyman productions. EVERYWORD 2009 featured the first public screening of four 3 Minute Wonder short films by local writers co-produced by Channel 4, the Everyman and Playhouse and Lime Pictures, making it a great opportunity to try something new and be the first to see the next generation of Liverpool’s writing talent.
