Festival Fringe Shorts is an exciting new writing festival aimed at finding a play to take up to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2013. David Waters and Stagescripts will also publish the winning play. Excerpts from new plays will be performed over two nights as we seek the play and the writer to take to the Fringe. A panel consisting of playwright Mark Davies Markham, author and columnist Stephanie Merritt and actor Eddie Webber along with Lucy Betts and Adam Forde from the Youth Theatre shortlisted the ideas for a new play. Now these 10-minute extracts will be performed by members of Act One, the Youth Theatre's senior production group, in two evenings of thrilling new work. There will also be the opportunity for the audience to meet the writers and cast to discuss the new plays.
