Guiding audiences through a vivid landscape of image and colour, Holy Smoke is a radical performance and a visceral look into the unknown with deconstructed messages of love and kindness, dreamy spells cast backwards and a pop song sung in reverse. Created by Ultimate Dancer (aka Swedish choreographer Louise Ahl) in collaboration with a crew of multi-arts practitioners including percussionist and visual artist Fritz Welch, musician Jer Reid and shamanic practitioner and performer Divina Kniest, Holy Smoke explores the parallel qualities between a guided shamanic journey and the experience of live performance.
