In 1973 the then poet laureate, John Betjeman, made a landmark documentary film about suburbia, tracing the social history of the Metropolitan Railway from Baker Street to farthest Buckinghamshire. Join us for a lecture and discussion during an evening of nostalgia and romance with music, narration and rhyme as John Betjeman in Metro-land celebrates Betjeman's love of trains, architecture and the follies of mankind.
