Part of the Snapshots Festival 'Fashion: Rag Trade/Trading Rags', dANTE OR dIE s are bringing La Fille ? la Mode, a musical journey through public and private spaces of the Rich Mix building. A company of eight female dancers, actresses and musicians will lead small audiences on a playful and seductive exploration of the continued celebration and exploitation of glamorous It Girls throughout the ages. The piece is a site responsive, promenade performance inspired by the first ever production at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, in December 1720, entitled La Fille ? la Mode. Fusing elements of dance, theatre and installation performance the show explores the essence of the It Girl through an intimately choreographed series of voyeuristic moments.
