Beacons, Icons and Dykons brings you an evening of performance inspired by and featuring the best moments from Pink Narcissus (James Bidgood, 1971) An American arthouse drama about the erotic reveries of a gay male prostitute in his Manhattan apartment. This is a unique experience in visual fantasy, shot in 8mm film with kitsch interiors with bright, otherworldly lighting and unsettling, saturated colour. A host of BID's favourites will punctuate the evening with performance exploring the film's themes. Artists include performance artist Paul Hurley, whose work uses action, ritual, queerness and humour. Dance from Panic Lab, who are highly visual, and physical cabaret performance artist extraordinaire Liz Clarke who blurs the boundaries of reality & dreamscapes, and BID's effervescent compere Tom Marshman.
