Razor Sharp
T770562698
Sandpit Arts brings dramatized readings of three of London's foremost Arab women writing today: Hannah Khalil, Yamina Bakiri and Malu Halasa. Collaborating with the same cast, and responding to current affairs, Razor Sharp will present a series of three rehearsed readings. New material tackles topics ranging from the emergence of a new breed of protesters, fast-response sketches and a failed film project. A showcase of satire and gentle mocking from Arab women who are not afraid to put pen to paper and tell it like it is. Audiences will not find Arab women that need to be rescued here, rather they will be party to a wave of emboldened, provocative female cultural producers from the region who are out to engage in vigorous critical discussion. And all this through the common language of comedy.
