Safe Passage
T0
The Leicester Haymarket Theatre is opening its doors to a brand new genre of theatre. Safe Passage embraces installation art in its realisation incorporating the work of actors, video, soundscape, photography and a set that behaves as a maze. Director Nazli Tabatabai has transformed the studio into a theatrical experience to arouse your senses and lift your spirits. The heart of Safe Passage is the telling of Nazli's own personal journey as a child of war and love in 1984 Iran. This time was a window into a world that communicated war, migration, identity, gender and family. This unique experience allows for the audiences to not only complete the theatrical experience but to contribute to it through interaction. Safe Passage is inspired by Bali - The Sacrifice a new play by Girish Karnad and Directed by Nona Shepphard. The connection to Bali is thematic, looking at non-violence, gender, family and how our faith and culture shape us as individuals.
