Forward Theatre Project is a theatre collective consisting of 25 emerging theatre directors, writers and designers. The company is one of Paines Plough's 2011 Associate Companies. FTP are committed to creating a community amongst emerging theatre artists from all over the UK and ?Scratch My City' is the company's venture into cross-region collaboration. Forward Theatre Project have been working with designer-led company Left Luggage Theatre from Newcastle. With Left Luggage, FTP are exploring ?reversing the process.' Left Luggage designers have been busy creating design ideas to present to our writer-director teams. Four pairings are then given the challenge to respond to the design idea and create a scratch performance. This time, the design not the script comes first...
