Brian Hartley (Stillmotion) uses his visual and performance backgrounds in this site-specific piece to explore the emotional anatomy of the body, organic environments and an affirmation of life through physical perseverance of the body against erosion and decay. Artistic director, Brian Hartley has a background in visual art, and his work embraces many different art forms from drawing and painting through illustration, design for theatre and physical performance. His work is concerned with the representation of the dynamics of the body, a fascination with the language of movement, rhythm, and form. He has showcased work with dance festivals, such as Glasgow's New Moves and Montreal's Nouvelle Danse Festival, and presented successful exhibitions nationally and internationally. As a designer he has worked with dance and theatre companies across Scotland. Intensely beautiful.
