Details

A dynamic collaboration between visual and sound artists, Silent Tide is a modern saga about the movement of people, from desert sand to industrial city where humans are of little consequence. Without words the story unfolds through force of image and sound. The three puppeteers are led by director Sarah Wright (Little Angel Theatre and RSC), while the music is played on extraordinary instruments designed and built by Bob Rutman (Steel Cello Ensemble), Bastiaan Maris and Jeffrey Funt (Mastodon). Simultaneously classical and industrial, the Steel Cello and Bow Chimes are formed of stainless steel and curved into sails, and the Heater whose propane flames resonate in six raw steel pipes, creates tones of unfathomable depth. Running time 60 mins with no interval. Silent Tide website.
