A Play, A Pie and A Pint - A New Play by Thomas Eccleshare archiveEmerging and experienced writers present short new plays presented by the best actors and directors. The A Play, a Pie and a Pint series are script in hand readings of brand new plays from the region's most exciting playwrights. Enjoy the play with a pie and a pint (or a soft drink!) A reclusive children's writer becomes wildly successful. Her books are treasured the length and breadth of the country: dog-eared copies are read at bedtimes and swapped in playgrounds. But when one day the secret leaks out that she is not the innocent, benevolent woman that everyone assumes, we find ourselves asking: What matters more? The storyteller or the story? Thomas Eccleshare is the Verity Bargate Award winning writer of Pastoral and the Co-artistic Director of Dancing Brick. He's currently the writer in residence at the Soho Theatre in London and he also played the role of the Prince in our Olivier nominated co-production of Cinderella: A Fairytale. Following the great success of the first productions from our a Play, a Pie and a Pint series (co-produced with Glasgow's ?ran M?r) in Autumn 2012, we're delighted to present this popular series again this year. Running time: 45mins. Age recommendation 14+ A Play, A Pie and A Pint - A New Play by Thomas Eccleshare website.
