Production details
The characters from this riotous romp, an original stage play by Dario Fo set in the '70's, stop polishing their rubber bullets only to be subjected to a humiliating ordeal at the hands of the 'Maniac'. A non-stop barrage of clichés, denim, magnum 45's and bad facial hair. Meanwhile, four storeys up, a suspect, whilst under interrogation, falls from a window. The police said it was an accident but someone thinks otherwise. This visually outstanding production has a superb original musical score, brilliant lighting effects, pyrotechnics and more gags than you can shake a stick at. This fresh new version, faithful to the clear-sighted insanity of Fo's original, was created for a Royal National Theatre mobile production in 1991.
