Angels Among the Trees archiveIt is 1846 and America is in the grip of a mass exodus to the West in search of the promised land - California. This is the story of one such group of resilient pioneers who take an untried 'short cut' across the barren reaches of the Great Basin. Their journey is finally brought to a halt by the onset of the harshest winter in the history of the Sierra Navada. Surrounded by death, in a battle with starvation, they survived the unimaginable by doing the unthinkable. Angels Among the Trees is based on the true story of the Donner Party. Age 16+. This production contains scenes which some may find disturbing.
