Animal FarmT1208667863
Orwell's tale of oppression, revolution and betrayal set amongst the animals in a farm. One of the most important books of the 20th Century. Mr Jones is forced to abandon his farm by his mistreated animals and the opportunities for a new life and afresh start where all animals are equal seems like an exciting new dawn. But gradually the promises crumble to reveal a regime of propaganda and force as some animals emerge more equal than others.

Production details

Adapted from Orwell’s dystopian novel the play explores the corruption of power in a revolution. Taking over the farm, the animals think it is the start of a better life. Their dream is of a world where all animals are equal. But soon the pigs take control and become ‘more equal than others’. One by one the principles of the revolution are abandoned, until the animals have even less freedom than before.
