Arrivederci Millwall archiveSet in 1982 the year of the Falklands conflict and the world cup in Spain, Arrivederci Millwall tells the story of Billy, a young South London Football supporter and his mates. Billy fights on the terraces. His brother Bobby fights for his country. Exciting, funny and moving the play explores issues of tribalism, nationalism and identity. It asks the provocative question of whether the socially approved violence of fighting and dying for God and country is ultimately as destructive and meaningless as the socially rejected violence of football hooliganism.
