Based on an idea by Christian von Richthofen and Stefan Gwildis. Translated by Mark Dolan and Christian von Richthofen. The only concert performance where the principle insturment is a Vauxhall Astra Mk2. Turning an old car into a symphony orchestra,
AutoAuto! performs music from Bach and Tchaikovsky to the more contemporary Benny Goodman and Motorhead, with little more than a few mechanical tools. The body ofthe car provides the sound box, the side grill is the rattle, the windscreen wipers squeak and sing and the aerial makes a bass guitar string.
