Banged Up is based on the true stories of two Birmingham men: Satpal Ram, imprisoned for fighting back against a racist attacker, and Alton Manning, strangled to death by prison officers. Banged Up brings them together to tell their prison stories - stories which expand to shine a light on a broader picture of Black life in Britain today.
