Behind Closed Doors archivehe engagement of two university students brings together their dysfunctional families. Sandra from Doncaster and Tarquin from Chertsey are sociologically distant but share a common problem; their fathers are bullies from whom their mothers seek refuge, one in vodka and the other in a make-believe gentleman friend. They play explores the different social attitudes to domestic violence, with comedy and tragedy in equal measure.
