Production details

Pleasure Gardens by Freddie Machin @Freddie_Machin - Pubs and clubs that champion the LGBTQ community are being closed down across London. The Royal Vauxhall Tavern was recently awarded listed building status - the first in England on the basis of its LGBTQ cultural significance - but the battle is not over, and dedicated queer spaces continue to fall. Based on interviews with cabaret artists, drag queens, property developers, and punters, Pleasure Gardens explores how the cultural landscape of London is changing as it becomes desirable to the super-rich - and how this impacts on vulnerable communities. Writer by Barefaced Theatre @barefacedtheatr - Barefaced Theatre explores the underground world of train writing: an intoxicating mix of obsession, fear and thrill-seeking. This candid and unflinching tale charts the journey of one train writer's dreams to be an original in a city of originals. Train (graffiti) writing was prolific, but since the 2012 pre-London Olympics cleanup it's on the brink of extinction. Are we now faced with the prospect of becoming an untouchable London? Free from all that defines this city's individuality - access denied, please stay in line. Mind. The. Gap. Untitled by Malachy Orozco @MalachyOrozco - A solo, work-in-progress piece about the fear of displacement.
