Production details

Home is where... by Hyphenated @wearehyphenated - Home is Where... is a theatre piece made of real stories that have been collected from interviews with Third Culture Kids, people who grew up in a different culture than their parents and created their own unique identities out of many influences. It's verbatim, but not as you know it; the stories of Londoners, but not as you know them. Using scripted dialogue alongside verbatim interviews, movement, and music, Home is Where... explores the complexity, absurdity, and joy of our multicultural lives. We are more the same than we are different. We are Londoners. Hyphenated was Born in D&D. Free Lunch with the Stench Wench by Catherine Hoffmann @CathHoffmann - A solo show exploring the personal and shared experiences of growing up as one of the 'feral underclass' in relation to today's ?Austerity Britain'. Fleas, cheap clothes, thrifty bread, cold baths, and debauched disadvantaged dancing will be investigated as I chart the drive for survival and fitting in. Stories and songs about how to get by and make do will be shared whilst I attempt to overcome the shame of being hard-up and celebrate our spirit of community and hope. 20B by Jane English (right)_MG_5964 @jane_english_ - 20B tells the story of an East London housing estate and its displaced community. "Our flat was the reference point around which we grew. Since it was demolished my mum and I have been able to revisit our home only through the retelling of our lives there. To unearth the memories of my estate, I'm on a mission to find our neighbours, who were scattered by regeneration." Part auto-biography, part oral-history, 20B explores the narrative of the city from post war-slum clearance to Olympic-era gentrification.
