Blackpool, What a Sh*t Place to Die archiveMeet Billy Costello. He's a young, gay, depressed, autistic actor with a drink and drug problem. After being outed in Aldi's fruit and veg aisle, Billy's family turn against him and he goes on a disastrous drink and drugs bender. With going home no longer an option, Billy jumps on the first train out of town - to Blackpool. In a heartwarming and heartbreaking lost weekend, Billy looks back on his life and sees no hope. He walks out into the Irish Sea with no intention of ever coming out. But all is not lost. Friendship and love come calling to remind him of who he is and can be again
