Breaststrokes is a show about journeying: global ocean travel in 1968, swimming across a lake in 1977, breast cancer in 2000. And being a mermaid. The thing about starting out on any journey is that you might think you know where you're headed, but it never looks the same once you get there. Which is sort of the point.
