Circus Britannia has come to town with its archaic brand of spectacle, great tradition, knockabout routines, knockabout routines, high fliers and clowns. But behind this, a hollowness rings through. The show is a mere re-enactment of the past. This is a circus with a difference, one that explores the ever-widening chasm between our nation's official identity and the true experience of living here.
