Ira Brand and Sara Zaltrash - Break Yourself/AH-BE

Break Yourself - Break Yourself is a piece about the performance of identity and of gender. Performed in male drag, it is about the relationship between power and desire, the complex landscape of male and female sexual desire, and the desire to be something ?other'. And it's about Bruce Springsteen. It is also an experiment in constructing personas and alternative identities. A risky, dishonest, head-first, whole-hearted, and perhaps slightly desperate attempt to try and be something we have never been before. AH-BE (In the Direction of a Rose - A pilgrimage for true love, broadcast 24 hours a day, from the source of the River Thames to the heart of Tehran. From 21st March 2017 ? 15th October 2018, British-Iranian performance artist Sara Zaltash will broadcast the live sound of her epic art-walk pilgrimage along the waterways of Europe and the Caucasus. Join her for a table-top animation of the story behind the journey, using symbolic materials, song, puppetry and live projection.
