Three new plays. Clay Theatre and Film, promise a night of theatre that digs deep into troubling places, turns real life and relationships on their heads and highlights some of the most exciting new writing currently emerging in the city - all performed by an emerging company of actors and directors. What's more, they've found an exciting pop-up venue to do all this: the Dalston Department Store is an old Victorian warehouse just off Dalston's Kingsland Road. A line-up of three plays, each of them quite short but not so sweet: The Broken by Zaf Ayub looks at a son's difficult relationship with his mother through the mirror of time and memory. Blooms by Daniel Sommerford imagines an increasingly surreal and creepy encounter between a corporation and a prospective employee. Once Saidby Sommerford takes us into a police interview room and a troubling encounter between two officers and a suspect. Whether anyone will actually be wearing that mask on the poster, we can't say at this stage. Bring your own, if you're into that kind of thing.
