Eva and Victoria

T7148093
Set in 1940/1950s Buenos Aires, during Juan Peron's Presidency, two of Argentina's most famous and most different women meet. Eva 'Evita' Peron is young, beautiful and worshipped by the working classes. She has transformed herself from a poverty-stricken nobody into Juan Peron's adoring wife. Victoria Ocampo, the strong-willed upper class feminist writer and publisher, is not impressed when Eva comes knocking at her door. Victoria sees her as the reason for Peron's popularity: it is because of Eva that his fascist regime continues to succeed. Over many visits, Eva and Victoria realise the common ground in their lives: the play unfolds an intriguing, emotional journey about two powerful women and their struggle to survive.
