Fissure archiveCan you love someone who represents everything you hate in the world? The world is in chaos. Hazel, a doctor, and Archer a space shuttle engineer fall in love. However, Archer's work with creating shuttle engines, when unsuccessful, has terrible repercussions on people's health, leaving Hazel to deal with the results. What is the cost when the one thing powerful enough to let us leave the planet could also completely destroy it? Fissure is a piece about the ideological conflict between loved ones within a world of environmental turbulence, exploring these matters in a playful form. The gesture at the heart of the piece proposes an important question today with the political conflicts and ideological differences creating serious rifts between loved ones and friends. Further, the piece is about our relationship to the Earth, and how far we are willing to go in order to look after it.
