Foreskin's Lament
T01751003946
A black comedy set in New Zealand, written by the former All Black Trialist, which introduces us to the coarse masculine camaraderie of the rugby world. These men are "the heart and bowels of the country, too strong and foul and vital for reduction to bouquets or oils or words." Brutal ambitions, insecurities, hopes and dreams - this is not just a play about rugby but about the state of the nation. It mourns the end of heroes and the passing of an age. In rugby there are no winners, only survivors - the same could be said about life. This production contains scenes and language which may cause offence.
