T1477985432 (THEPIT07) This radical reinterpretation of Gilgamesh, the oldest story in the world, is high-energy, brutal and multi-layered theatre. Three actors in a seven metre-long dirt pit wrestle and roll through four tonnes of earth. Using action figures and Matchbox toy tanks, they retell the 5000 year-old story of tyrannical ruler Gilgamesh and his destructive friend Enkidu. It's a richly imaginative world of gods, kings, rappers and wrestlers, conjured up through a riotous form of child's play. Epic theatre, played out on a tiny scale, with a thrash metal soundtrack. Play :: A magical and mythological tale. Part man and part god, tyrannical ruler Gilgamesh sets out on a hazardous quest for the Spring of Eternal Youth. Tragedy awaits, and it is in his acceptance of his own mortality that Gilgamesh achieves true divinity.
