Gresford archiveOver 250 men and boys lost their lives in the Gresford mining disaster of 1934. This moving play graphically recreates the events surrounding the calamitous pit explosion. Set against the public enquiry which followed, when Sir Stafford Cripps vigorously defended the miners' cause, this play traces the impact of the disaster and its aftermath on one family, and indeed a whole community devastated by the loss.
