Groundswell
T0
Forced into early retirement, a former business executive loads up his expensive 4 x 4 and heads out on the open road. He finds that forgetting his troubles is not going to be easy when he books into what looks like a quiet guest lodge in a small fishing and diamond town on the West Coast. His obvious wealth, and sense of aloneness, makes him a target for the attentions of an ex-policeman, and an itinerant gardener. They see in him an opportunity to raise, by means fair or foul, the finances they need to carry out their own desperate plans. Groundswell is a story for today s South Africa, tapping deeply into the unease of three South African men caught between what was - and what might yet be. Each man, in his own way, defying the displacement of identity he feels in a transformed country.
