Home Truths

Two plays by this one, one by David Lodge and one by Rosemary Friedman. Play by David Lodge: A writer has retired to country obscurity - but the peace is broken when an old friend, now a Hollywood screenwriter, comes by and involves him in a plot to take revenge on a rather curring critic whose mocking interview with him has just been published in the newspaper. Set in summer 1997 when public opinion was turning against the press. Play by Rosemary Friedman: Family drama mixing comedy and tragedy. A Christmas weekend creates an explosive climate of jealousy, resentment, sibling rivalry and sexual intrigue.
