Lilya is a play based on the award winning film
Lilya 4-Ever and explores the world of sex trafficking. Lilya, a poverty-stricken teenage girl abandoned by her mother and left to fend for herself in a crumbling town somewhere in the Soviet Union. Her only friend is 11 year old Volodja, himself an outcast, together they dream of a better life. Then Lilya meets Andrei, a smooth talking young guy who says he can take her out of the slum to Manchester, England. Abandoning Volodja she comes to Manchester, but instead of becoming her dreams she finds herself in her worst nightmare.
