Comedy set in a slimmers club. Siobhan has lost seven stone, found a wardrobe of clothes that actually fits, acquired a fulfilling job and gained the love of a good man. Keen for others t achieve the same through participating in her diet and philosophy, she rents the changing rooms in a church hall in Tunbridge Wells. Six ladies looking to make the transition from flab to fab enrol with the 'Slim for Life' dieting club. Can Jean a wife, mother and overworker, beat the battle of the bulge? Will Celia a retired housewife, win the wrestle with the wardrobe? Together with Claudette, Lucinda, Rosie and Kelly, Siobhan - Achiever of the Year '94, exhorts them to follow her life, ideals and follow her five-stage plan but is loathe to allow her disciples to succeed too well and let them go. 'Remember, girls - not slim for today. Not slim for tomorrow. But slim for life!' Everyone's lives are different and Siobhan's brittle plan begins to crumble under the strain of life's reality and individuals.
