A play about Somerset Maugham (1874 - 1965) that illuminates his many faces; famous playwright, novelist and short story writer, MI6 secret service agent whose Villa Mauresque on the French Riviera was one of the great literary and social salons of the 1920s and 30s where his friends the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Sir Winston Churchill, Lord Boothby, Noel Coward and others enjoyed his hospitality .
Mr Maugham at Home considers frankly his failed marriage to Syrie Wellcome and his passion for an American ambulance driver he met while working as a stretcher-bearer in the First World War.
