Touching upon the 1960's Civil Rights movement, Nina's struggles as well as her own personal challenges, Josette uses text, music and song to take audiences deep into the hopes, dreams, sorrows and successes of both herself and the incomparable Nina - a consummate story teller who used her remarkable talent to create a legacy of liberation, empowerment and love through a magnificent body of work. Nina - a story about me and Nina Simone celebrates how Nina changed the world and in turn, changed us all.
