Pelleas and Melisande

Pelleas and MelisandeT069020894
Pelleas and Melisande is Debussy's most famous opera. It tells the tragic story of a misguided love affair that tears a royal family apart. Golaud, Prince of Allemonde, discovers a girl named Melisande, crying in the forest. He consoles her and, enchanted by her mysterious behaviour, takes her from the forest and they marry. However, her arrival at the royal court heralds dramatic consequences for the whole family.
