The play follows the near extinct lives of four men waiting out their days in a residential home. Stuck in a rut of imposed mundanity, it is like praying for rain during a long hot summer. When a new nurse arrives, it's like a breath of fresh air for the four of them. Praying for Rain is in turn tragic and comic, but always thought-provoking.
