When Pap Pickles nips out to buy some cigarettes, her husband Bobby, her four kids, and father-in-law Nobby don't think she'll be long, but that was a month ago. But rather than trying to become Father of the Year overnight, Bobby enlists the help of next-door-neighbour Bernie, a faded drag queen, to look after the kids whilst he and granddad blag their way round Europe following their beloved Manchester United. Things never run smoothly in the Pickles household, and when a family tragedy threatens to destroy them, could Bobby become the man no one thought he was?
