Sir Andrew Davis conducts the massed forces of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus to play Edward Elgar's magnificent oratorio, of which Elgar himself wrote 'This is the best of me'. The performance takes place in the magnificent surroundings of St.Paul's Cathedral, and features a starry British line-up of soloists - the tenor Philip Langridge, the mezzo Catherine Wyn-Rogers and the bass Alastair Miles.
