Something Familiar gives an insight into the lives and fears of five strangers who find themselves in an unfamiliar time and place, a place where there is now way out until they are willing to confront themselves. Through each journey of self-exploration comes the realisation that they are not on their own and the five unite and discover their own strengths, beliefs and learn to live again. Their lives that were once strange become real and their fight for survival brings them home to a place from where they were once lost.
