Spitfire Ladies

A special event for International Women's Day celebrating the Ladies who flew Spitfires from the factories to airfields across the UK during the war. Free event with refreshments available for purchase from the Spitfire Cafe. The event will feature extracts from the play by Joyce Holliday, Anywhere to Anywhere, a play with music charting women pilots in the Air Transport Auxiliary. as well as archive films featuring women working on Spitfires and bombers in wartime factories. Free event, although a £5 donation for Operation Spitfire would be welcomed. Operation Spitfire raises money for the restoration of Stoke-on-Trent's Spitfire.
