Squalor is a witty, tragic comedy set in Liverpool in 1990. Franny and his boyfriend Aidan live in a festering basement squat. Aidan has been thrown out of university and degenerated into a life of drink and drugs. The arrival of his father, Mr Small, who still believes his son is a BA in History and is engaged to be married, begins to reveal just how much Aidan has been deceiving everyone around him.
