Bigoted comic Eddie Pierce faces his critics and peers in a concert that no-one could imagine, with an outcome that no-one could predict. Old School Eddie (Jim Davidson) faces up to the cream of new comedians, including Earl T Laurence (Matt Blaize) who is politically correct, brilliant... and black! Stand Up and be Counted! gives us a ringside seat as gay icon Billy Simpson (Lloyd Hollett) and TV's newest talent Ellie Jayne (Rachael Barrington) share a dressing room with Britain's most controversial comedian Eddie Pierce. This 'pull no punches' play is full of drama and comedy and provides us with a look inside the minds of these troubled entertainers.
