Most of us get lost at some point in our lives, in train stations, car parks, in a maze, the wilderness, the desert, or the forest. We get distracted or have a trauma, and we get bored or ignored. With whatever survival kit we can grab, we try to leave our mark, in pebbles, crumbs, red ribbon or chalk. Is it this way, or that.... we trace and re-trace with post-it notes, with arrows on the trees, with polaroids and parcel labels - are they distractions, diversions or directions? Everyone and No-One have made their home in the hidden tunnels of Bakerloo Station, creating their own fictional Lost Property centre. Are they hiding or being hidden? The station clock is against them as their presence has been detected. The pair find their friendship tested, attempting to unravel their own truths, as they race to save themselves and understand the journey they've been on. Everyone and No-one explore contemporary realities against the backdrop of mixed messages, stolen lives and well kept secrets. This piece aims to promote understanding of the stigma attached to mental health problems and the barriers created by the world we live in. One in four people will experience mental health distress at some point in our lives. It does not define who we are but there remain many negative and stereotypical perceptions. It affects all of us in some way and if we do not talk about it, it will remain hidden, shameful and stigmatised.
